On Thursday, January 30, 2020 The Kansas Section of the Society for Range Management is hosting a Symposium titled “Rangeland Carbon Storage: A Look to the Horizon". The half-day event will precede the Kansas Natural Resource Conference in Manhattan, Kansas at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Registration is $20. Reserve your spot when you register for the KNRC here.

The Symposium will feature speakers from diverse backgrounds discussing the potential for grasslands to capture carbon. Topics will include:

  • cropland to perennial grassland conversion
  • the emergence of carbon credit markets
  • how carbon storage is measured, and
  • practices that improve carbon capture

Speaker presentations will be followed by a panel discussion about various financial resources available to land managers interested in increasing and potentially marketing carbon storage.
