Rangeland Carbon Storage: A Look to the Horizon

On Thursday, January 30, 2020 The Kansas Section of the Society for Range Management is hosting a
Symposium titled “Rangeland Carbon Storage: A Look to the Horizon". The half-day event will precede
the Kansas Natural Resource Conference in Manhattan, Kansas at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The Symposium will feature speakers from diverse
backgrounds discussing the potential for grasslands to capture carbon. Topics will include:
- cropland to perennial grassland conversion
- the emergence of carbon credit markets
- how carbon storage is measured, and
- practices that improve carbon capture
Speaker presentations will be followed by a panel
discussion about various financial resources available to land managers interested in increasing and
potentially marketing carbon storage.
