Thanks for another great conference!

Thanks so much to everyone who attended this year's conference in Wichita.  This year was truly special as it marked our 10th anniversary of the KNRC!  Just a few things to summarize the last decade:

Student registrations have represented as little as much as 30% of the total registrations each year. The average Professional to Student ratio is 3:1 - that's 3 mentors for every student, every year!

Annual registrations have ranged from 219 in 2009 to 381 in 2012, with a total of more than 3000 attendees from 2008-2017.

We've also had 39 plenary speakers, 530 concurrent sessions, 220 student presentations, and 191 posters.

Through the years, we've tackled a lot of conservation issues through our plenary sessions:

  • 2008: Where Do Trees Belong in Kansas? The Role of Trees on the Kansas Landscape
  • 2009: Renewable Energy - Renewable Resources
  • 2010: Kansas Waters - Signs of Prosperity and Health
  • 2011: Through the Haze: The Role of Fire on the Prairie
  • 2012: Wetlands: the Jewels of Kansas
  • 2013: Under Attack: Invasive Species in Kansas
  • 2014: Forty Years of the Endangered Species Act: Living with Endangered Species in Kansas
  • 2015: Partnerships in Conservation: Bridging the Gap Between Science & Politics
  • 2016: Conversations on Conservation: Engaging Landowners Through Effective Communication
  • 2017: Rivers and Streams: Reflecting Landscape Management

Tell us how we did this year, and what you'd like to see next year by filling out this form.
